Optimum's GP Control DM Kit is a must have piece of software for your Cannondale. Check out the article/review and let me know what you think.

Nice job on the write up. Makes me want one even more, especially with all the custom maps on this site.

Jim,

AWESOME write up! I now understand all the numbers I've seen flyin' around about offsets and flowrates. I too really want to get a DM tool because I know my X440s is running rich. But I just bought a laptop for Christmas and the $300+ for the DM tool just isn't in the budget right now.

Hopefully, I'll be getting one this year!

Thanks guys! I was a little off base on the how to richen and lean out the bike and still get your throttle settings correct so I removed that section. I'll get some clarification and add it back in the article or just add a whole new article because it's a little more involved.

More to come so keep a look out.

Hey Jim...You did one bang-up job of an article!! I am very impressed!! You were wise to disreguard the section on leaning and riching ur own AFR because it is extremely easy to go too far in one direction or the other by plug reading alone. And I dont think I have to tell anyone what happens after an extremely lean condition.
I seriously hope to write an article with the help of Optimum concerning proper AFR settings...Scooter (from Opt.) and all guys are truly genuises and they ride as well, making them true experts!
Again, fine job Jim... and anyone who is consider purchasing a DM tool, it will be the second happiest day of ur MX life. (1rst being C'Dale purchase day. ) Happy Moto-ing. -MAZ

X'lent job Jim,

I talked with Scooter today and it sounds like tomorrow for the operating code patch. Damn I hate using proper terminology, I think I'll just stick to Hex Code. LOL

Great write up. Iv'e only used mine a few times and you hit the nail on the head. Having tools like this make owning one of these bikes awsome. It's a shame more people can't experience it. :D

 For thoughts and help with fine tuning, I will be glad to help. I have been doing this since the beginning of the MC 1000 system. We all need to keep our C-Dales in the fore front and I will be glad to help.

Been a few questions about the DM Kit lately so I thought I would move this to the top for a bit.

I have a question: is the 'jetting' part updated? Also, looking through the spreadsheet that Radical Ron provided, I see Main Jet, Needle, and Pilot settings for the rider adjust. Are those available for us to jet the bike with?

You know in 5 years every dirt bike will have gps. It just that they are all
behind in the times. How long dus it take to change a piot jet or even a
main. Look at running the pikes peak. You know all the cars have fuel
injection.

Harry,

The settings I beleive you are referring to are the "unique" numbers for you bike or quad. These numbers should never be changed. The "other" numbers that are changed help throttle responses and fuel delivery at certain RPM's. The ECU comps for altitude and temperature changes.I hope this helps.

Harry, I never added the fuel mixture part back in because I'm hoping to create a whole new article for that. If someone wants to write that part up that would be great but eventually I hope to get around to it.

The theory is more complicated than the actual procedure but it really does deserve it's own write up. Coming soon. :)
