It's my bikes Birthday today.

HEY! It just dawned on me. It's been exactly a year today since I bought my E440

Lets see I have about 1100 mostly singletrack miles on it. Only on my second rear S12 to boot because I ride the mellow E map most of the time. Plus I get my miles out of them. Been down about a dozen times. Some real hard. Some, well one leg must have been shorter than the other. Never been stranded on the trail once. Been through some ugly stuff too and some challenging 50 mile loops.

List of problems over the last year:
-Broke footpeg pin in a crash. Temporarily replaced it with a pin from ACE hardware.
-Panoram flaked out once. I beat some sense into it.
-Lost my Radiator cap once. I swear it was on tight. My bad.
-Dealer gave me a stepper motor for free. I changed it out and it fixed my intermittant idle. 2 minute job.
-Dealer gave me a water pump impeller. I changed it just because. Cleaned off corrosion from overheating.
-Switched to Water Wetter and not a peep out of my bike since.
-Fuel leak at injectors. Changed out crimp hose clamps for real hose clamps. About 15 of them. No problems since the swap out.
-Fuel leak last month before Poker Run on quick disconnect. Found an oring at ACE Hardware. $0.49 baby! Cost me a T-Shirt though while I waited for ACE to open.
-1st ECU needed the stalling HEX update in April. Dealer wasn't up to speed and couldn't upload a HEX code so he swapped it out.
-2nd ECU acted goofy in cold weather. Second day at 1st annual TT ride the problem reared it's ugly head. Dealer couldn't upload the HEX code so he swapped it out again.
-3rd ECU the DM Kit killed it. Thanks to Optimum they came out with the upgraded DM kit a couple days later. Good timing or what? I resurrected the ECU from the dead myself by uploading the HEX code. Power to the people!

I think that about covers it. Some problems like the ECU's sound bad but in reality they just needed new HEX codes. That's a 5 minute job with the DM kit.

All I can say is these bikes are built like tanks. I very much look forward to another year of fun.
